Georgia Brews in (478) and (912)

We are familiar with all the brews originating from the Greater Atlanta Area, and the breweries under construction in (404) (770) (678) (470) areas. How much do you know about what is brewing in Macon or Savannah?

Macon, Georgia (478)

If all goes smoothly, look for cans from Macon Beer Company by Spring 2013. Cory and Jeremy have selected a building at 345 Oglethorpe Street in downtown Macon (not far from Macon Coliseum).
... focused on innovation, sustainability, philanthropy, and developing a strong connection to our employees and community. We expect to maximize profitability without sacrificing quality, purity, or attention to detail through the use of engineering principles that improve value and efficiency beyond industry standards. We will strive to become a source of knowledge held in high regard by the craft beer industry.

Savannah, Georgia (912)

Presently, Savannah is home to two brewers.

Since 1999, Moon River Brewing Company has been serving fresh delicious brews to their patrons. Moon River has just begun renovations on an adjacent vacant lot that will become an impressive Beer Garden. Expect an opening just before Saint Patrick's Day.
...we are committed to providing three basic services. We are dedicated, first and foremost, to providing you with a comfortable and relaxing environment with prompt and cheerful service. Secondly, we are committed to serving you a delicious variety of freshly prepared foods. Our kitchen is a melting pot of diversity, offering a range of dishes from simple comfort food to eclectic gourmet cuisine. Finally, we are undeniably passionate about serving great beer.

Immediately after their launch, Coastal Empire Beer Company earned the Peoples Choice Award at the 2011 Savannah Craft Beer Festival. The Haborak Brothers hope to be brewing their beers in Savannah by mid 2013. Look for their brews in cans soon.
Coastal Empire Beer Co. won Peopole’s Choice – First Place in the 2011 Savannah Craft Brew Fest with he Savannah Brown Ale. We were exited to see the Savannah Brown get awarded first place again this year and we were even more excited when we learned that the Tybee Island Blonde (launched this spring) was awarded Best in Show.
Two other breweries expect to be brewing in Savannah by next Summer.

Dockside Brewing Company has some tasty and creative recipes to brew. I have sampled all six of their Main Lineup brews. My favorites were Hale Storm (Belgian influenced), and Anal Probe (JalapeƱo brew).
A line up of the most requested beers, a solid business plan, and an impressive marketing plan is all that was needed to start moving forward. With people begging for our beers and requests coming from as far away as California, we were on our way. Investors, bar owners, and distributors showing serious interest are knocking down our door.
Just north of the Savannah Historic District will be Southbound Brewing Company. Smith and Carly are alumnus of SweetWater Brewing.
...we aspire to become the most innovating and exciting yet. We want to use our backgrounds, skills, and insights to shed light on the beauty of the craft beer industry to our local community. By bringing the American beer revolution to Savannah's back door, we hope to cater to the tastes of the South by tantalizing your taste buds and keeping things interesting!
